What can you expect?

Here at The George we believe in traditional home made food.  Your food is made in our newly refurbished kitchen and every effort goes into ensuring the  very best quality reaches your plate.

We are known locally for our Gourmet Burgers. These burgers are made for us by our local butcher to a secret recipe and only available at The George. You can be sure we serve the best burgers in town!

If burgers aren't for you then we offer a variety of mains, snacks and lunches featuring flavours from around the world.

Take away is available as well as eat in. If you would like to eat in we recommend you book to avoid disappointment. We love our historic pub but table space is limited.

Our roast dinners are most definitely something to savour.  We cook everything on your plate from raw ingredients using the very best local suppliers. There is no compromise on quality with all the meat being supplied by Allingham's Butchers.

Our beautifully cooked, lovingly prepared Sunday Roasts are made to order. We pick up the meat on Saturday and marinade it over night before getting up early to slowly roast and baste it throughout the morning. 

We serve our Sunday dinners with both roasted potatoes and real butter mashed potatoes as well as home made stuffing, giant yorkshire puddings, parsnips and three types of vegetables so you will never miss your favourite part of the meal. If you want a little extra just ask for cauliflower cheese, or root vegetable mash to make it extra special.

Roast Leg of Lamb with rosemary and mint stuffing
Roast Oxford Sandy Black Pork with caramalised cider apple and onion stuffing
Roast Allingham's Longhorn Beef with traditional sage and onion stuffing
Roast Norfolk Turkey Breast stuffed with cranberry and citrus stuffing
Roast Chicken served in Quarter or Half portions with traditional sage and onion stuffing
